Hey BCTV! Nikki Lee is with us this week,  and she’s going to demo one of her go-to highlighting techniques specifically for her brunette girls. Nikki’s client is much finer up top and has some delicate baby hairs, so she is going to concentrate her color mostly on the bottom of her hair and work her way up thus leaving more of her natural depth at the roots. This is perfect for that low maintenance client that isn’t trying to come in every couple months for a root touch up. We love Nikki’s application process; she gets right in there and does much thicker pieces than we expected. And don’t you worry, she’ll show you exactly what to do to keep those highlights from looking too chunky or stripy. Hair stylist, salon owner, entrepreneur and mom, Nikki is a jill-of-all-trades. Whether she’s layering in some extensions, crafting the perfect blonde locks or touching up a deep brunette shade, she always makes her clients feel and look their best. Nikki went to beauty school in her hometown of Reno, Nevada. After she graduated, she went to Genesis Salon. When she moved to LA, she assisted at Fred Segal Beauty in Santa Monica, California. After opening Nine Zero One Salon with co-founder, Riawna Capri, they launched IN COMMON.
